Chapter 14.5 - Staying Warm in Winter
Roxy yawned and slowly opened her eyes. The bleary, dim light of an overcast dawn greeted her, signaling the start of another winter's day. She could already feel the harsh chill of the air and snuggled herself under the blanket that had been so graciously donated to her. Leaves, vines and grasses woven together would never compare to the toasty feeling of being underneath a heavy human-made blanket, but it definitely helped.
She smiled softly to herself as she also snuggled closer to her other source of warmth. In other circumstances she might have felt embarrassed about sleeping under the same blanket

Three years later.
Kona wandered into the common room of the guild, still half asleep. Not only was it his day off which meant that he had gotten to sleep in, but he'd had a very busy day yesterday that had left him exhausted. After breakfast he had crawled back into bed for another hour's nap, and still he felt pretty worn out.
The Dewott shook his head to clear the cobwebs from inside his mind. He wondered if he should spend his whole day off sleeping, but chuckled softly and dismissed the thought. He felt sure he'd wake up eventually, one way or another.
As he shuffled into the room, yawning loudly as he went, he looked around

Chapter 47 - Family (Part 3)
It was a calm, quiet day on Dewdrop Island. It was daylight out, but the laid-back lifestyle of most of the islanders meant that few Pokémon were awake at this early hour. Only the sound of the constantly falling rain could be heard as a small boat pulled up to the dock.
Three Pokémon carefully stepped out. One held an umbrella, the second graciously remaining underneath it, while the third followed behind them not caring that he was getting pelted by the rain. The boat ride was paid for, the Sharpedo raced off, and then the trio were left alone in the stillness.
Ziggy reached up and pulled off the ho

"Hellooo?" Sparks called out as he popped his head through the doorway.
The common room of the Rescue Society guild was filled to capacity with every single member of the active team, and they all looked up in shock and surprise upon hearing the Raichu's voice.
Sparks grinned. "We're back!"
There was a huge commotion as all twelve members of the team smiled and joyfully welcomed him back. It had been days since he had seen any of them, and he was so glad to see them all here happy and safe. Out of all of them, Tora was the only one who looked less than perfect, as she was sitting at the end of the long table w

As Sparks ran towards the pile of rubble that had once been Jiuji Labs, his legs were shaking so much that he nearly stumbled three separate times. Tears flew from his eyes and his breath hitched in his throat, but he ignored everything and just ran.
When the distraught Raichu reached the destroyed building, he grabbed the first hunk of rubble he could reach and immediately tossed it to the side. Then he grabbed another, and then another. Pieces of stone, warped chunks of metal, snapped pieces of wood, half destroyed lab equipment, tiles from the roof. Some of the larger pieces made him grunt in exertion, and he was alre

It had only taken at most five minutes to run across the city to the district where the lab was, but it had felt like an eternity. Lupe had expertly managed to avoid all of the danger and get Ziggy across the city without encountering any of the creatures. Now they were just a few minutes away from their destination.
Ziggy gulped as he looked down another cross street, seeing some Pokémon fighting against a large purple-coloured beast. "Are…Are we gonna be okay?" he asked Lupe, "Can these things even be beaten?"
Lupe didn't reply right away, and Ziggy knew she was thinking the same thing as him

Radiant City was under attack.
There were already plumes of smoke from various points between the buildings, a few sizable fires were burning, and a couple of the larger buildings were visibly damaged. Ziggy could catch sight of Pokémon running for their lives out of the city and into the open fields that surrounded it.
The source of the attack was hard to miss. The air around the city was utterly filled with various portals, all of different sizes but all fizzling and jittering in place. They looked the same as the kinds of portals that the Nihilego had traveled through, and these portals were clearly where

Chapter 45 - No Going Back
"Mnnnghhh…"
Sparks snapped to attention the moment he heard Ziggy make a noise. He saw Rico and Terry nearby do the same. The four of them were still tied up in the secret basement of Hilo's lab, and a rather uneventful half hour had passed since Ziggy had first been knocked unconscious. The Buizel wore a grimace on his face and was struggling to open his eyes.
"Bud…?" Sparks said softly, leaning in as close as his restraints would allow.
"S'rks…?" Ziggy mumbled. He finally opened his eyes fully, though it looked like he had just woken up with a massive hangover.
Sparks bit his lip as he watch

Before Sparks could say anything else, Hilo walked back over towards them. "That settles it, then," he was saying to the Toxtricity, "We were right after all. How interesting. Well, at least we've accounted for that now so it shouldn't happen again…" The Toxtricity nodded and walked off, upon which Hilo turned to the four captives and clapped his hands together. "Well! You may find this interesting."
"Doubt it," Rico spat bitterly.
Hilo ignored him and explained anyway. "We've suspected for a while that crossing through the portal on its initial run had altered UB-01 Symbiont unintentionally. We t

"Ziggy!"
Everything hurt.
"Ziggy!!"
No, wait…everything felt numb?
"Ziggy, please wake up…"
Such a weird mix of pain and numbness. A feeling of being unable to wake up, unable to move.
"Ziggy!"
Suddenly jolted to his senses, Ziggy's eyes shot open wide and he gasped in shock. His breath came in quick gasps for a moment as he tried to make sense of where he was and what was happening. Panic gripped him so hard that his vision was blurred, but he clenched his eyes shut and caught his breath. When he opened them again, he saw where he was.
He was still in the same place. He was in the secret under
